Basting (joining quilt top, batting & backing together) - $15.00 per square metre.
Custom Quilting - POA
To calculate the cost of your quilt, I multiply the length by the width in centimetres, prior to quilting. For example, 195cm x 200cm = 3.9 metres.
Please note that the above prices may vary depending on the complexity and density of the quilting pattern chosen.
How to prepare your quilt for machine quilting
- Ensure backing fabric and batting are at least 5 inches wider and longer, on all sides, than the quilt top
- If you have joins/seams in your backing, please remove selvedge before sewing, make seams 1.5cm or 5/8 inch and press open
- Please ensure the top and backing are square (i.e. straight edges and 90 degree corners) and sits flat
- If there is extra fabric in your borders this may result in puckering. I will do my best, but quilt tops with these problems may still have the problems after quilting is completed
- Please check your quilt for loose threads, snip them off the back and front (threads left on the back can show through on lighter areas of your quilt top)
- Please clearly mark the "top" of your quilt if it is directional or you have a preference, this also applies to your backing fabric
- I cannot guarantee centre placement of quilts for double-sided quilts or pieced backs
- Please ensure that your quilt top and backing is ironed and folded gently to minimise creasing
- Do not pin or baste your quilt
